The Honest Ed's Trip
Last Friday, we had a trip to Honest Ed's. It is a big mall. Our teacher took us to visit many buildings around the mall. Though it was raining, we were interested in the history of those old buildings.
After the trip, we went to a Korean restaurant and had a wonderful lunch. My Korean classmate said this Korean restaurant was not very good, but we still thought it was delicious. Maybe we were just hungry.
We had an interesting experience after lunch. When we took the subway to go home, we needed to transfer to another subway. But my classmates and I did not notice the direction of the subway. After 20 minutes, we found out that we were on a wrong subway train. We took out the map to check. Then a lady came and asked us if we needed help. We said no thank you to her, because it was easy to find the right way back. Then we transferred two more times to get home. When we got home, we felt very tired.

Jade's story
It happened during War II. A boy named Chi lived in a small village. Some American soldiers lived in the same village because they were preparing to resist the Japanese army. They felt bored, they just walked around the village every day, and they could not find anything interesting. One day, they saw Chi coming to them, and Chi had a basket with some eggs. The boy gave them the eggs, and they found him so cute that they gave him some canned food. The boy was eleven years old. The soldiers felt happy because the boy met them every day. The boy's father asked them to teach his son English, After then the boy lived with them for three years. They got along well.
The soldiers went back to the United States in 1949. Both of them cried at the airport. They wanted to take the boy with them, but they couldn't. After they went back to their country, they ofter got together and talked about Chi, because they missed him. One of them got a letter from Chi in 1980, and Chi told them that he wanted to visit them. The soldiers bought tickets for their friend to go to USA. They lived together for one year. Chi said that he missed his family, so the soldiers gave him money to help them come to the USA. They also gave Chi $5,000 to open a restaurant. Other people wondered why they gave so much to Chi. They said that Chi gave them a lot of happiness when they lived in the small village, so they just wanted to reward Chi, and it was worth it.
After Jade told the story, we were touched. I think if we want other people treat us very good, we need to treat them very good firstly.

Serving a traditional turkey dinner this thanksgiving? Well, there's still time to add some flair to your family affair. Hey, Et Canada, the leaves are changing, and so is the menu. You got the turkey; we got the chefs to help you twist up the trimmings. We got the pumpin-seeds stuffing, which is done with pumpkin seeds, figs, sage. Cornbread stuffing is done with the smoked chipotle, and sweet pepper and green onion. And the piece de resistance:chestnut-cherry stuffing wild rice. We add the actual bread to it as well. We have sour cherries, and we top it off with Brandy and chestnuts. But what about drinks? Raspberry cider. You take the apple cider or apple juice, if you prefer, a little bit of frozen conentrate raspberry, a little bit of connamon and sugar. You put it all in a big sourcepan, and boil it. And for a special cider, how about , cinnamon, and bit of Courvoisier liqueur? It's served in a champagne glass, it's warm, and you add a little bit of a cinnmon stick to it, and you're definite set for the holiday!

Our field trip yesterday
When I filled in a form, I heard a person spoke Mandrain. I thought many Chinese went to the job fair. But when I put up my head. I was really surprise, because he was Canadian, not Chinese. I was excited, I asked him how long he had studied Mandrain. He said three years. I wonder why he can speak Mandrain so fluncy. So I talked with him about ten minutes. He said he had taught english in Taiwan for three years. After class, nobody spoke English only Mandrain. But his Mandrain was really good. When I talked with him, I spoke in normal speed and I changed several topics, he never said "pardon" and he understood very well. He seldom had the accent. Even he can write Mandrain, he explain his chinese name to me, he knew the meaning of his name very well. I thought it was great after I studied english three years I can speak english fluncy .
